Being serious for a moment.
I really don’t know what earth orbit we were in during the Maunder Minimum but the current earth orbit is a worst case scenario for global cooling In my opinion.
The sun at its closest point to the earth at mid winter in the northern hemisphere allowing the southern hemisphere to receive less solar radiation during their winter. Northern hemisphere land mass allows greater cooling so in balance both hemispheres will cool and continue to have overlapping snow seasons. Snow somewhere, non arctic, on the planet year round. If the duration of this minimum is approximately equivalent In length to Maunder, guessing temperatures will drop lower in both hemispheres for the eddy minimum.
I expect the dark forces to combat the stark evidence of a cooling climate by regularly pushing out headline “reports” of this year being the hottest ever.
Their adherents will concurrently be freezing their posteriors off while blaming global warming for the cold.
In the central highlands of Arizona, according to my AccuWeather app the highs here for this next week (starting today) are double digits below last year and average historical highs on two of the days, one being today which is 21 F below last year and 15 F below the average. Hi Cap, not sure if all of this is from you but it certainly seems to be coming true:
Jupiter and Saturn are about to do something not seen since the year 1226.
The two largest planets in the solar system have fascinated astronomers for hundreds of years. But the gas giants will do something later this month not seen since the Middle Ages — they will look like a double planet.
The rare occurrence will happen after sunset on Dec. 21, 2020, the start of the winter solstice.
“Alignments between these two planets are rather rare, occurring once every 20 years or so, but this conjunction is exceptionally rare because of how close the planets will appear to one another,” said Rice University astronomer Patrick Hartigan. “You’d have to go all the way back to just before dawn on March 4, 1226, to see a closer alignment between these objects visible in the night sky.”
As Robert Felix mentions in his book “Not by Fire but by Ice“:
According to studies by Rhodes W. Fairbridge and John E. Sanders of Columbia University, these alignments cause what is known as the solar retrograde cycle. This cycle involves changes in both solar spin rate and solar output (solar output declines abruptly). The retrograde motion itself is produced by the gravitational pull of the planets; primarily Saturn and Jupiter. When Saturn and Jupiter are both in the same quadrant of the solar system they exert a greater pull on the sun. The cycle is undeniable. “Solar cyclicity must now be considered as being a fact of life,” said the two Professors Emeritus. (Both Fairbridge and Sanders were Professors Emeritus of Geology at Columbia University. Each of them published extensively in geology and astronomy)
Below is a longer excerpt from “Not by Fire but by Ice“ concerning the solar retrograde cycle:
Previously, I mentioned the Little Ice Age, which began in the early 1600s. What I didn’t mention, is that little ice ages recur in cycles. Pioneering studies by Rhodes W. Fairbridge and John E. Sanders of Columbia University show that our climate oscillates – warm to cold, cold to warm – in a dependable, predictable cycle, becoming much cooler and wetter every 178.73 (±0.27) years.
The cycle is caused by the sun’s retrograde, or clockwise, motion around the center of mass – the barycenter – of the solar system. Called the solar retrograde cycle, this cycle involves changes in both solar spin rate and solar output (solar output declines abruptly). Each of them published extensively in geology and astronomy.
Probably the most important figure in solar retrograde field was the late Dr. Theodor Landscheidt, founder of the Schroeter Institute for Research in Cycles of Solar Activity in Waldmuenchen, Germany. Dr. Landscheit began publishing his results in 1976.
On earth, the solar retrograde cycle triggers fluctuations in geomagnetic-field intensity while causing abrupt – and extreme – changes in climate. The changes are so severe that at every other beat of the cycle – approximately every 360 years – the earth plunges into a Little Ice Age.
This cycle has plagued our planet for hundreds of millions of years.
“The 360-year Little Ice Age cycle shows up in the Morrison Formation clear back in the Jurassic,” says research geologist Jack Sauers. “It correlates with the fall of the Roman Empire. It correlates with the fall of the Sumerian Empire. It correlates with the fall of the Ottoman Empire (when Ghengis Kahn swept out of the north). It correlates with the fall of the Greek Empire. And it is now coinciding with the collapse of several modern-day empires.”
Unfortunately, the last beat of the Little Ice Age cycle occurred almost exactly 360 years ago. “If this pattern holds,” said Fairbridge and Sanders, “then a comparable Little Ice Age can be expected to begin . . . early in the twenty-first century.”
But wait. It gets worse. Multiply the Little Ice Age cycle by four, and you get a 1440-year cycle of even harsher climate conditions. This cycle, discovered in the Greenland Ice Sheet, was reported by Paul Mayewski et al. in 1997. (Journal of Geophysical Research, 30 Nov 1997)
The 1440-year cycle brings with it “dramatic and rapid” changes in climate (dry in some areas, wet in others) and worldwide glacier expansion. The cycle appears to be related to internal oscillations in the ocean-climate system, says Mayewski (which I attribute to underwater volcanism, triggered by changes in geomagnetic intensity, triggered by the changes in the sun).
Whatever causes it, a similar 1440-year cycle has been found in North Atlantic deep sea cores (Bond et al., Science, 14 Nov 1997). Our climate plunged into frigid conditions about 4200 years ago, said Bond. Similar declines occurred about 2800 years ago and 1400 years ago, which means – you guessed it – that the next beat of the 1400-year cycle is due.
As if that weren’t enough, multiply the 1440-year cycle by eight, and you come up with 11,520, which is suspiciously close to the 11,500-year ice-age cycle.
So here we sit. The next beat of the 179-year solar retrograde cycle is due. The next beat of the 360-year Little Ice Age cycle is due. The next beat of the 1440-year ice-age cycle is due. The next beat of the 11,500-year ice-age cycle is due. The next beat of the 100,000-year ice-age cycle is due . . . and we’re worried about global warming?
It’s ludicrous to be worried about global warming.
We must prepare for an ice age. As Fairbridge and Sanders put it, “Nature’s dice really are somewhat loaded.” If we can heed the lessons of history writ so clearly in the geologic record, maybe we can reload those dice in our favor.
Jupiter and Saturn Conjunction was in ’20, further apart every day since. I was commenting at IAN during the event. The actual conjunction was prior, 12/21 was from Earth view. Big alignments Nov and Dec ’24 but not with J & S they are far apart now. It’s the other alignments that will cause solar flares, quakes, ect next early Winter. Big alignments this month and all months this year, more flares, quakes, volcanos, cyclones. https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/planets/great-conjunction
Are there any real daily measurements of the distance between the Earth and the Sun?
I have only found daily mathematical calculations of the distance between the earth and the sun.
To see if there is a connection between the alignments of the planets, real daily measurements of the distance between the Earth and the sun must be made.
Hello Electroversians ( my suggested collective noun for us believers, better than Electroversers or Electroversites). I think there is a danger in confusing weather with climate. A long string of daily weather occurrences over many years gives us our local area’s average/expected annual climate. That slowly changes over periods of 100+ years of records. Changing Climate, not Climate Change perhaps. With respect, I disagree with MM above in that the Earth’s orbit, while cyclical, is still orbiting the Sun and has been doing this for zillions of years and the prime energy source (and affect) is the Sun’s Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) which V. Zharkova has predicted a 1% reduction in TSI during the approaching GSM. The orbital distance has an affect but much less than TSI, so I’m told. Her first publication was met with horror by the warmists and she lost one of her other three authors (he recanted, {cut and ran}). So, she “warmed up” her paper by reducing the period of the cold temps to about 50 years along with a sop to the warmists by including returning warming after maybe 2080. What should be remembered is that she predicts that the full affect of the GSM will be in place by 2032, 8 years from now, so things will probably be very bad in 4 years or 2028. We should be pounding on our politicians to wake up and start massive preparations in the Northern Hemisphere (NH) such as building as many pipelines as possible to distribute as much fossil fuel as possible to as many people as possible. Who is going to clean the snow off the solar panels required that we also don’t have. Forget windmills! I don’t think it is out of the realm of possibility that a lot of the NH will look like Greenland so food production will require a total remake of biblical proportions. For a start, thousands of greenhouses will be needed (wherever possible) that are raisable (jack upable?), to keep the roofs and walls above the increasing snow depth. Hard to make stuff green in an igloo IMHO. Comments? Billy Best in the Vancouver area of Canada.
2016 after SC24 was over, GAH GT went to record warm. Record El Nino.
2020 during solar min UAH GT went up again to second record warm on the chart. UAH Global Temps went up those two times without Tonga, no solar flares. Record hot Summers here during the last 3 year La Nina, never know what it’s going to do next.
2016 and 2020 UAH GT were preposterous. Robert Felix from IAN said we’d be frozen and snowed over by ’16 and it went record hot. El Nino killed mass sea life. I read every day at IAN since 2012, read all the GSM studies, theories and then watched 2016 El Nino kill mass sea life in person. I studied Oceanography, Geology and Weather in College double time. Never stopped studying, still studying double time. OCD up all night watching solar flares/quakes/volcanos/weather. Cyclones. Nobody knows squat about what’s up with our mag shield and weather/climate. Ask Ben Davidson. I’ve watched his shows every day since 2015. All the vids. He admitted three years ago he and his pals at NASA don’t have a clue about our mag shield and weather, they still don’t, He says SC26 will be stronger, no GSM no global cooling. Ask Ben, have a debate, you will not win he is extra smart. The Sun’s negative polarity mag strength rebounded eight years ago stronger than the GSM prediction. Pos polarity five years ago. Total strength stronger than GSM prediction, redraw the chart. ’09 was the low. Is Earth’s mag strength still weakening? What pace? How about Pole flip, same pace?
Ocean temps warm, UAH GT warm. Most of Earth is warm Ocean. S America and Africa warm, hot in Oz, SE Asia. Weak mag shield equals warm UAH GT. It lets in more solar activity and Cosmic Rays didn’t cool us down. Solar activity erupting volcanos and they emit heat. How many BTUs did the Mexi volcano emit in ’23? And the two years before. Etc etc etc plus sub sea level. Does the warm O weigh more pushing down on the eggshell? How much does the Pacific O weigh during ONI shifts? 1AM, time to light the woodstove. Hi Dirk and readers. There is a lot of white noise. Separate out the frequencies. (noises)
The immediate elephant in the room appears to be the Pacific Rim of Fire.
The hotspot off the East Coast of Japan appears to be the biggest elephant, North Pacific anomalous warm SST, along with La Nina and El Nino conditions happening concurrently.
The Japanese hotspot is where four tectonic plates meet, the only such place on the planet.
How much warmer do the oceans need to become before we have a more rainfall climate like when the lost civilizations of the Middle East were burgeoning?
My dumb question for the year.
Japan heat could be from nuke plants, also from China’s. I saw one vid on how much China’s nuke plants put out compared to Fukushima. Wow. Many unknowns, mysteries of the deep.
Noon Monday it’s 90F in S Texas and 23F in the NW corner of Texas and snowing. Heat rising up from Mexico forms a Low Pressure over Oklahoma right now, cold air down the NW corner of the Low. That Low goes up to the Great Lakes by tomorrow evening, heat going up the East Coast and cold air down the center of mass. mid US. https://www.windy.com/-Show—add-more-layers/overlays?temp,32.449,-97.725,6,i:pressure,m:eoRadqr
The Atlantic Ocean is warner than average between Africa and S America. From Portugal to Cuba. Africa is hot. S America is hot. C America is hot. All that heat wants to rise North off the E Coast US but most is going West off W S America in the Pacific. El Nino. Heat going up the East Coast US, cold air going down the center of mass mid US. Heat also rising up off the Gulf of Mexico into inland US causing the Lows which pull cold air down from Canada. https://www.ospo.noaa.gov/data/cb/ssta/ssta.daily.current.png
That’s why I don’t live East of the Cascade Mountains in Washington, it’s too cold inland away from the saltwater. The saltwater keeps it warmer in Winter and cooler in Summer and provides us with seafood. -1.5′ tide tonight at 8PM, there’s 80 acres of oyster beds across the street I can go get a cooler full tonight or a dozen. Clams too and I make thee best clam chowder on the planet. It’s raining cats and dogs so I’m going to eat Coho salmon from the freezer I caught in Sept. You couldn’t pay me to live E of the mountains.

I-90 Snoqualmie Pass Cascade Mountains Wa St now closed from too much snow falling. Ha Ha Ha. Cold all the way across the country just like every year. No thanks.

Cap, Patron is a bit annoying. It takes multiple refreshes in order to finally get them to enable my access to your daily reports. Tell them their refresh step is not working efficiently as it repeatedly directs me to “pay” for the subscription I already have in place, instead of moving me over to the authorization page.

German farmers topic, I’m watching a vid on Redacted shot in Berlin , great interviews. I’m part Prussian, my Great Grandpa escaped and homesteaded in Winnipeg Canada, eh? Two sections, nine kids , no electricity.
Same rotten families running the show now. King Chucky. All US presidents are Royal Family including the Donnald. They control the UN which controls everything everywhere, nowhere to run. Not going to win this having peaceful protests. Save your fuel for the battle or just to stay warm. People are to stupid to have a battle, just lemmings everywhere. Not smarter than yeast. Exponential growth from cheap oil, that party is over. Same resource war, different century.
